The contributions in Volume 1 are directed at the diversity and the extent of mobility in six European countries (Germany, Spain, France, Poland, Switzerland, Belgium).

The editors:

Prof. Dr. Norbert F. Schneider, Professor of Sociology, Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz, Germany.

Prof. Dr. Gerardo Meil,  Professor of Sociology, Universidad de Autónoma de Madrid, Spain.

This volume contains cross-national comparative analyses of the consequences of different forms of mobility for family lives, jobs, careers, and quality of life across contemporary Europe, as well as findings about the relationships between mobility, gender, social class, and life courses.

Reference & Research Book News February 2011

Overall, this book deals with currently relevant questions related to the rise of job-induced spatial mobility in Europe and the diversification of spatial mobility patterns coupled with it.
