Anstatt zu fragen, was Kultur ist, r\u00fcckt das Buch die Frage nach der Funktionalit\u00e4t von Kultur in den Mittelpunkt. Die Theorie der Weltgesellschaft (Luhmann) als Ausgangspunkt macht einen Perspektivenwechsel im Umgang mit Fragen der Fremdheit in der globalen Welt notwendig und erweist sich als gewinnbringend f\u00fcr die Bearbeitung p\u00e4dagogischer Herausforderungen. Neben metatheoretischen \u00dcberlegungen wird das Thema der Inter-Kultur im Alltagsdiskurs von Studierenden erforscht. Das Buch zeigt, wie in der Rekonstruktion der Handlungsorientierung der Studierenden ein Umgang mit Weltgesellschaft verortet ist.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Die Welt in der wir leben l\u00e4sst sich in Folge des strukturellen Wandels, insbesondere der Ausdehnung der Kommunikation \u00fcber alle Grenzen hinweg, nur noch als Weltgesellschaft beschreiben (Luhmann 1971). An die Annahme der Weltgesellschaft als ein universelles Kommunikationsangebot werden alle weiteren \u00dcberlegungen gekn\u00fcpft. Es muss von einer ver\u00e4nderten Bedeutung des Nationalstaats ausgegangen werden, weswegen der Zusammenhang von Kultur und Gesellschaft in nationalstaatlicher Rahmung aus weltgesellschaftlicher Perspektive obsolet scheint.
\nMittels der Betrachtung von Inter-Kultur vor dem Hintergrund der metatheoretischen Annahme der Weltgesellschaft wird systematisch die Funktionalit\u00e4t von Kultur f\u00fcr Inter-Kultur ausgearbeitet, was Grundlage daf\u00fcr sein kann, bestehende p\u00e4dagogische Theorien auf die globale Wirklichkeit zu beziehen und eventuell notwendige Weiterentwicklungen oder Neupositionierungen anzuregen.
\nDie metatheoretischen Annahmen dienen auch als Ausgangspunkt f\u00fcr einen empirischen Zugang zum Thema Inter-Kultur im Alltagsdiskurs von Studierenden. Wie kommunizieren die befragten Studierenden inter-kulturelle Herausforderungen in der Weltgesellschaft und wie generiert sich ihr Orientierungswissen in der Weltgesellschaft in ihren Gespr\u00e4chen? Ausgewertet wird das Material der durchgef\u00fchrten Gruppendiskussionen mittels der dokumentarischen Methode.
\nDie empirischen Ergebnisse und die metatheoretischen Annahmen der Funktionalit\u00e4t von Kultur f\u00fcr Inter-Kultur werden im Sinne einer losen Kopplung zusammengef\u00fchrt.<\/p>\n
